NBDF’s Washington Days is an opportunity for people affected by bleeding disorders to advocate for issues that are important to the community. Bleeding Disorders Association of South Carolina participates each year providing a voice for South Carolina’s bleeding disorder community and a strong unified commitment to the national community. Participants of Washington Days are provided a briefing and training session held the day before the Capitol visit; talking points and key issues are discussed and reviewed. It is a great experience for everyone and if you are interested in attending, contact the Chapter for additional information on the potential for attending NBDF’s Washington Days and representing our state and Bleeding Disorders Association of South Carolina. Our goal is alway to have each district represented. Travel assistance may be available for those advocates approved by BDASC and the Advocacy Coalition team. You will need to register with the Chapter first. A registration fee is required this year. Check out the NBDF registration page for more information on this event.
In 2024, Washington Days had more than 400 volunteer advocates from 45 states who met with legislators and staff to discuss federal funding for bleeding disorder programs and support policies that increase the affordability of coverage and access to care.
