Gettin’ In The Game, Junior National Championships (JNC)

Developed by CSL Behring, the Gettin’ in the Game (GIG) Junior National Championship (JNC) was the first national golf, basketball, swimming, and baseball competition designed specifically for the bleeding disorders community. The program gives children with bleeding disorders an opportunity to compete in golf, basketball, baseball, and swimming and provides education and information-sharing opportunities for participants and their parents/caregivers.

BDASC and Chapters throughout the nation partner each year to provide this opportunity to our members. Applications are now available and must be sent to the Chapter by the deadline date to be considered. BDASC will pick (2) applicants to attend and they will be notified shortly after the deadline date by BDASC. Good Luck to all!

Applications must be received into the Chapter Office by Sunday, July 14th, 2024.

It gives us great pleasure to announce CSL Behring will once again be hosting the Gettin’ in the Game Junior National Championship (JNC) this year. It has been 22 years since CSL Behring created the JNC, the first national, and currently the only, sports competition for children with bleeding disorders.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of their respective sport, participate in friendly competition, and have a chance to connect with fellow members of the bleeding disorders community from across the country. Additionally, educational seminars focusing on the importance of physical fitness and other related topics will be available on site. More importantly, they will connect and build relationships with fellow members of the bleeding disorder community by sharing their personal experiences with one another.

CSL Behring invites all bleeding disorders chapters throughout the United States to not miss the opportunity to nominate two children from their chapter to participate in the experience of a lifetime. This is a chance for children, ages 7 through 18, to represent their chapter during this national competition. Each participant will have the opportunity to choose baseball, basketball, golf, or swimming. At the conclusion of the JNC, each child will be recognized for his or her participation and champions will be announced.

Individuals interested in being nominated for the program by Bleeding Disorders Association of South Carolina should complete the application as soon as possible. Applications are due to BDASC by Sunday, July 14, 2024. Winners will be notified soon after the deadline date. We encourage all eligible participants to apply even if you have participated before. We would be happy to have you talk with individuals who have participated in the past years should you need additional information. GOOD LUCK!!

  • Nominees must be 7 -18 years of age and have a confirmed bleeding disorder to participate
  • Chapters can nominate up to two participants for their area to participate in either golf, basketball, baseball or swimming.
  • Each participant must be accompanied by one adult (parent or caregiver)
  • The selection of the participants is the sole responsibility of each Chapter. CSL Behring will have no involvement in the participant selection
  • CSL Behring will sponsor each Chapter-selected nominee and one accompanying adult to participate in the program. This sponsorship is free to participants and will include the coordination and cost of airfare, ground transportation in the program city and hotel arrangements (attendees will be responsible for transportation to and from their hometown airport). Scheduled meals will be provided on site.
