Bleeding disorders may be rare, but their impact is profound on those affected. Individuals diagnosed with conditions such as hemophilia, von Willebrand Disease (vWD), and other genetic platelet disorders often face a daunting and isolating journey. The STEP for Bleeding Disorders event is our largest fundraiser, playing a crucial role in supporting the hundreds of families across South Carolina living with these rare conditions.
The funds raised through this event help provide vital education and support services to over 1,200 individuals. These resources include direct financial aid for families, advocacy efforts that protect access to healthcare and treatment, and patient-driven research focused on addressing the most pressing needs identified by those living with bleeding disorders.
Our organization works closely with treatment centers and medical professionals to serve the community, ensuring that those affected by bleeding disorders have access to the best care and support available. We are dedicated to fostering a tight-knit, supportive environment for individuals and families, offering opportunities for networking, guidance, and emotional support throughout their journey—from diagnosis to lifelong management.
All proceeds from STEP for Bleeding Disorders stay within South Carolina, directly benefiting our local community and strengthening our mission to improve the lives of those affected by bleeding disorders. Together, we walk and run not just to raise funds, but to build a lasting community of support and advocacy for a better future.
